Huron Capital’s ExecFactor platform, Sciens Building Solutions, bolsters its fire detection and security services with its latest acquisition.
DETROIT — Sciens Building Solutions, a Huron Capital holding company, has acquired Pleasanton, Calif.-based Sabah International.
Sciens was formed by Huron Capital in September 2016 in partnership with CEO Terry Heath to pursue a buy-and-build investment strategy in the fire detection and security services sector.
It is part of the company’s ExecFactor platform, which is a proprietary buy-and-build investment model.
“We think Sabah is a great addition to the Sciens platform,” says Heath. “Sabah gives us a meaningful presence on the West Coast, with an impressive customer list and a strong reputation in the market.”
Sabah works with its clients to design, install, service and maintain fire detection and suppression systems, as well as leak detection and integrated security systems.
The company primarily serves the technology, healthcare, financial services, education, government and commercial end markets.
Sabah CEO Michele Sabah will be working closely with the Sciens board, while Sabah President Matt Ramsey will continue in his current role of developing and growing the business.
“I am very proud of the company we have built over the years and we could not have done it without our great employees,” says Sabah. “We chose to partner with Sciens because of our shared values and this exciting buy-and-build strategy, which we believe will allow our employees to further develop in their careers while remaining firmly focused on the satisfaction of customers.”
